Sumter County Infrastructure Update

To best capitalize on Sumter County’s unique geographic advantages, the county’s transportation strategy includes ongoing infrastructure development and maintenance.
 

C-462 Widening

 

Widen and reconstruct from US 301 to C-466A. Project completion is expected in 2017.
C-466W WideningWiden and reconstruct from CR 209 to US 301. Project completion is expected to be substantially complete by June 2017.
C-468 Widening and Second Bridge over Florida’s TurnpikeConstruction of a second bridge over Florida’s Turnpike at C-468 and the widening to four lanes of C-468 between 505 to east of the Turnpike. Completion of all project construction is scheduled for July 2016.
CR 219 Widening between SR 44 and CR 238Widen and reconstruct the existing two-lane CR 219 to include two 12’ lanes, paved shoulders, and turn lanes at SR 44 and the future southernmost Pike 75 driveway. This project is still in the design phase.
CR 525 Extension- Wade Industrial ParkThe master plan of the Wade Industrial Park is complete and the extension of CR 525E is in the design team selection phase.
I-75 Widening *Widen I-75 from four lanes to six lanes from the Hernando county line to SR 470 and from CR 470 to south of Florida’s Turnpike. Estimated project completion is Fall 2017.
I-75 @ Florida’s Turnpike*Design-build project that reconstructs the systems interchange between I-75 and Florida’s Turnpike. Estimated project completion is 2018.
